Noriko Ikeda graduated from Yokohama National University in 1979 and joined Fujitsu Limited. She belonged to Fujitsu Laboratories and was engaged in electronic and optical material design, molecular calculation on supercomputer, mass spectrometry of glycan, binding characteristic analysis of cancer vaccines, chemical patent analysis, and polymer ontology research. She obtained the national qualification of Professional Engineer, Applied Science Department in 2014, and Comprehensive Technical Supervision Department in 2016. Since 2019, she has assumed the positions of Vice President of the Applied Science Subcommittee of the Institution of Professional Engineers, Japan. Her recent interests focus on two key themes required of Professional Engineers: human resources development and ethics of technology and engineering. She has been a member of the Initial Professional Development working group (IPDWG) of the Training Committee since 2018. She is currently a member of the Engineering Subcommittee of the Association for the Promotion of Research Integrity (APRIN). Her current position also includes the director of the Kisho Professional Engineer Office.
